An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Regional Counter Terrorism Trainer to join the East Midlands Specialist Operations Unit (EMSOU) as part of the Counter Terrorism Policing team. As a Regional Counter Terrorism Trainer, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and delivering local, regional and national counter terrorism (CT) training to unit staff and staff within Forces who work in the field of CT and scenario-based CT exercises.

 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Developing, validating, and evaluating training courses to ensure they achieve regional and national objectives, meet customer requirements, and contribute to the personal development of all students.
  • Planning, preparing, and delivering CT training and other relevant training packages and assist where required with national scenario-based CT exercises.
  • Meeting the wider training and development needs of the following: CT Intelligence Unit staff, CTPEM staff and officers across the five East Midlands forces who are part of the wider CT family.

The must haves:

  • Hold a training qualification to a minimum NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) or significant experience in the delivery of training courses, with an ability to demonstrate good interpersonal and presentational skills.
  • A broad, relevant experience of delivering multiple training requirements to a variety of audiences to staff at all levels.
  • You must hold a full UK driving licence.

Salary: - £29,085 - £35,982

For part time hours the salary will be calculated on a pro-rata basis, this is based on the number of hours for the vacancy.

 

Security Requirements

This post requires regular access to sensitive material and applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo enhanced security clearance before taking up the post. The material may be of sensitivity to the UK and may therefore be restricted to UK nationals.  In approved circumstances, dual nationals (of which one element is British) may be granted access.

However, if potential conflicts of interest cannot be managed, the post holder will not be permitted access the systems or material required for the role and will not therefore be able to perform their duties. For the purposes of safeguarding national security, applicants who do not hold or achieve the required levels of security clearance requirements cannot be offered the post.
