Deliver a proactive communication service helping to prevent crime, increase community safety and promote positive policing across Derbyshire.

As our Communications Officer, you will produce content, including written, video, audio, and imagery, for the force website, intranet, and social media platforms to reflect and support the corporate brand and key messages. You will help prevent, reduce, and detect crime as well as enhance public confidence in Derbyshire Constabulary.

What you’ll be doing

  • Interacting with officers, staff, and the public online through effective channel management.
  • Helping to plan and take part in emergency planning exercises.
  • Support and advise senior officers during major incidents and crime investigations.

The must haves

  • Ability to quickly react and write succinctly during high pressure incidents.
  • A good working knowledge of communication methods.
  • Experience of dealing with the media on a regular basis.
