Derbyshire Constabulary are looking for a Fleet Vehicle Cleaning and Inventory volunteer to work within the North Division. Derbyshire Constabulary has a wide range of marked and unmarked vehicles. We take pride in ensuring our standards and values are maintained throughout all areas of the force.

We therefore require volunteers to help us clean & valet vehicles, carry out simple safety checks, such as tyre pressures & tread depth and conduct an inventory check to ensure the vehicles are fully stocked and ready for use. This includes such things as first aid kits, police tape & other essential equipment that are an everyday requirement for frontline officers & staff..

You will need to have knowledge of basic car maintenance, the ability to present vehicles to a high standard and great attention to detail. A full clean driving licence is also desirable.

If you think you can be flexible and volunteer for 4 hours per week then please read more on the job description.

Working for the constabulary

Policing in Derbyshire takes more than 3,500 people in a wide range of roles. Around half of these are police officers, but we also have a variety of police staff. From police community support officers to police staff and volunteers, we all play an equally important role in protecting the people of Derbyshire.

It’s a vibrant, challenging and rewarding place to work and we’re committed to equality and diversity. We aim to create a constabulary that truly reflects the communities we serve. As part of this, we promote Positive Action. This means when you apply to join us, as well as assessing you on merit, we’ll look at your application according to our need and in line with current legislation to actively encourage a more diverse workforce.
