PCSO recruitment now open in Derbyshire

What a year it has been, front and centre to our response have been our Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs).

Today, (Monday 23 November) we have opened recruitment in to this vital role for Derbyshire police.

PCSOs are at the at the heart of our Safer Neighbourhood teams, tackling crime and anti-social behaviour in every community across the county.

Kerry Wallington-Waite is one of our PCSO Supervisors and explains: “I’d always liked the idea of working in the community, making a difference and solving problems. It’s very interesting work and I’ve dealt with everything from abandoned cars to neighbour issues, school talks to crime prevention events and foot patrols.

“Derbyshire Constabulary really invests in its people through training and regular check-ins with your manager. There are also numerous staff networks available to offer advice and support too, plus they are family friendly regarding work life balance, I really feel we are cared about.”
