Derbyshire police win University of Derby Employer Engagement Award

Our Workforce Planning Officer and Inclusion Manager were joint winners of the Employer Engagement award 2021, after being nominated by members of the university’s Careers and Employment Service.

Rachel Mutters, Head of Careers and Student Enterprise, Careers and Employment Service, University of Derby, said “Derbyshire Constabulary were nominated for the Employer Engagement Award due to the connection they have developed with the Careers and Employment Service at the University of Derby and the opportunities that they have offered to our students and recent graduates.

“The judging panel were impressed by the supportive, collaborative nature of the relationship and the range of relevant and high value opportunities being offered."

“The nomination expressed how supportive, keen and responsive the team at Derbyshire Constabulary have been and the judging panel felt that this really made them stand out from the other nominations.”

Three other staff members were also nominated in the Employer Engagement and Work Experience Employer of the year award categories.

Phil Mason, Head of Human Resources, commented: “I am really proud of the members of Derbyshire Constabulary for being nominated and of course particularly pleased that they went on to win the award.”

“We think it is vital to work closely with the educational establishments in the county to give students the best employment opportunities.”

“The work our staff have been doing is not only about highlighting what a fantastic place the force is to work and volunteer, but also supporting the students in whatever their future career aspirations may be.”
